In this issue we have an article on the. ‘dying game of golf’, as there does seem to be less people playing than in previous years, this is due to multiple social and economical factors, should we be concerned? Fortunately the trend in Thailand and Pattaya is the opposite, this years low season has not been as quiet as expected, perhaps boosted by various local events and tournaments.
For example, September 26th, the East Coast Golf Course Management Association (EGA), are organising the nals of the Caddie Championships at Siam Country’s Old Course, the Pattaya and Thailand Golf Festivals at Burapha and Laem Chabang and the International Pattaya Golf Festival at Plantation. A mammoth four tournaments all on the same day with over 500 competitors all going to a gala buffet afterwards at Non Nooch Gardens.
And, look how well the Thai women on the LPGA tour, led by Ariya Jutanugarn are doing, inspiring more and more young Thais to take up the game.
