St Andrews 2000
This is an extremely long course playing at 7,700yards to par 74, as it features two massive par 6’s. It is part of a 72 holes resort sharing its clubhouse with Rayong Green Valley and Silky Oaks.
English born golf course architect Desmond Muirhead has created one of Pattaya’s most spectacular golf courses, as St Andrews 2000 was built to replicate a Scottish links course. Located in Rayong, it is about 40 minutes from Pattaya.
This is a tough golf course and although everyone can enjoy it, it probably offers an uncompromising challenge aimed at players with handicaps of 18 or lower.
St Andrews features several elevated tees and greens, tight landing zones, split elevation fairways, huge putting surfaces surrounded by hills. Many greens are uphill so your second shot needs to be accurate here.
Birdie: There is a certain thrill when you look down from a high tee box to a valley below with humps and hollows, knowing that you have to drive with a degree of accuracy. Risk and reward is the name of the game here!
Bogie: The facilities although perhaps a little old fashion, are quite adequate.
Watch out for: There are two par 6’s, both over 800 yards, claimed to be the World’s longest par 6! Good luck if you par them!
